Easy Peach Cobbler

This easy peach cobbler doesn’t last long in our house! These peach slices are cooked in sugar then placed on top of melted butter and sweet biscuit batter.

This recipe calls for 6 peaches. Six peaches equals around 4 cups.

Peel and slice the peaches and place in a saucepan.

Add 3/4 c. granulated sugar and 1/4 tsp. of salt in the saucepan.

On medium heat, stir the peaches until the sugar dissolves. Afterwards, remove from heat and set aside.
6 slices of unsalted butter in a casserole pan.
Set the oven to 350 degrees. Place 6 tbsp. of unsalted butter in a 9×13 pan and place the pan in the oven until the butter melts. Once the butter is melted, bring back to the top of stove.

In a bowl, add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

Next, add the regular milk and buttermilk. (If you don’t have buttermilk, add around 1 tsp. of lemon juice in with the milk.) Mix together.

Add the mixture on top of the melted butter in the 9×13 inch pan.

Swirl the melted butter and batter together. (I used a toothpick.)

Add the sliced peaches on top of the batter. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

-At 350 degrees, bake for 38-40 minutes. You know when it’s done baking when the biscuit starts to brown.
-Let the peach cobbler cool for 30 minutes before eating.

Ingredients

  • 6 peaches, peeled and sliced (around 4 cups)
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

For the Batter-

  • 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk + 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • cinnamon- sprinkled on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Peel, slice, and remove the core from 6 peaches and place in a saucepan.
  3. Add 3/4c. granulated sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt in the saucepan with the peaches. On medium heat, stir until the sugar has dissolved. Remove saucepan from the heat.
  4. Slice 6 tbsp. of unsalted butter and place in a 9×13 in. pan. Put pan in the oven and let the butter melt all the way. When the butter is melted, bring the pan back out and set on top of the stove.
  5. In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Then, add the milk and buttermilk together. Pour the mixture over the melted butter in the pan. Swirl the butter and batter mixture together.
  6. Take the peaches and pour over the batter and melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  8. Bake for 38-40 minutes. Let the cobbler rest for 30 minutesĀ  before cutting into it.
